Generational Equity, a leading mergers and acquisitions advisor for privately-held, middle-market businesses, is pleased to announce the acquisition of its client, Budde Trucking, Inc., headquartered in Avon, Minnesota, by Shane Goodman. The transaction closed on June 30, 2014.
Budde Trucking, Inc. (BTI) is primarily a flatbed, lessthan- truckload (LTL) trucking company. In general, LTL carriers transport consolidated cargo shipments, with multiple delivery points. When long distance is involved, LTL truckers typically operate within a network of terminals connected by long distance routes. Flatbed LTL trucking represents a smaller and more specialized segment of the trucking industry, but nevertheless a growing part of the market. Approximately 84% of BTI's operations are conducted in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
The buyer has a background in the home health care industry and had a desire to get involved in the trucking industry. Managing Director, Michael Goss, and Senior M&A Advisor, Wally Kocemba, along with Stan Gibbs, led the Generational Equity deal team that advised BTI on the transaction. According to Michael Goss, "This transaction was the ideal situation in which an openminded Seller and creative Buyer both worked together with determination to create a win-win scenario for all, with a unified goal of successfully transferring ownership of this 60 + year old company.
